POPULUS ROMANUS PROJECT
Phase 1: Create Your Persona
Recall the prime directive of the project: Keep your identity secret, and base all work on the knowledge you have gained from historical research.
1) Research your figure! Identify sources of
information, both primary and secondary, about your subject. Some books will be
available in our classroom for class use, but you may also check out or
photocopy pages from library books that have information on your topic. You may
also use approved internet sources. You will create a bibliography of all
sources used. You may require these sources throughout the project, so don’t
lose track of them!
- We will begin our research in class
on Mon. 4/25 and Tues. 4/26.
2) Fill out POPULUS ROMANUS Profile Page. Here
you will explain how you know about your subject by recording an annotated list
of references. (The document library includes a sample.) You will also record
basic biographical details concerning your figure as well as explain why your
figure is of significance. As you
research, you should take notes on any interests, hobbies, skills, and traits
possessed by your subject. You should also be on the lookout for figures with
whom your figure had important interactions. This profile will provide a foundation for the
work you do in Phase 2.
3) Email your PERSONA
ROMA Profile Page to me with the subject line “Profile Page” on or before Monday, May 2.
